Now that the exhibit is over, I want to thank everyone again for their support near and far (a tremendous blessing). I also want to thank @pcheen for the opportunity. We will shoot for round two of the series this time next year. On to the next one. ✌
In honor of black history month here are a few paintings by Henry Ossawa Tanner and Charles Alston that inspired my Artiste series. The mother in Alston’s Family No. 1 painting (the third painting) is the woman depicted in my Blues singer piece (first painting in the post below). I am continually in awe of the work by both greats.
